UPDATED: Canada celebrates sesquicentennial

Walt is not sure if the Globe and Mail's Brian Gable read Poor Len Canayen's pessimistic post before drawing this excellent editorial cartoon, but Poor Len says that pretty well sums up his view of the whole sesquicentennial celebration.

All the same, Walt and Poor Len [and Ed.! Ed.]
wish all our Canadian readers and friends
Happy 150th Birthday. Eh!

Further reading: "Celebrating 'diversity' will only divide us, but celebrating Canada's unity keeps us strong", by Rex Murphy (the indefatigable Newfie), in the National Post, 1/7/17. Key quote: "Identity politics aligns with diversity, and it is emphatically not our strength. Identity politics is a flight from commonality and unity."
